faq

where do the seeds come from?

our seeds come from the emilia romagna region of italy and the netherlands, strictly from trusted and certified organic growers. this means our seeds are confirmed organic by accredited authorities who check that no artificial fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides are used.

when do i have to harvest my microgreens?

our microgreens have the highest nutrient density after 7 to 14 days of growth. therefore, we recommend that you harvest them by the end of this period. we exclusively use pesticide-free, herbicide-free organic seeds. after about 14 days, the young vegetables leave the microgreen stage, so the desired quality and nutrient density can no longer be guaranteed.

will mold grow?

there is a low possibility mold could develop. it is important to always tend to your ingarden with clean hands to avoid possible contamination. additionally, there is a chance particles in the air could cause mold growth.

do microgreens attract insects?

no, ingarden microgreens do not attract insects. however, it is a good rule of thumb to change the water and clean the ingarden after each harvest.

having problems with seed germination?

seed germination is a complex process influenced by various factors such as light, water and temperature. always ensure that your seed pads are moist and that there is enough water in the tray. clean the wicks from old roots before using them again. if germination is not uniform, we recommend using germination plates for the first 2-3 days to make the process easier. learn more about our germination plates in the shop. if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact our customer service at info.us@ingarden.com.

what do i do with the old pads?

our certified organic seed pads are made of biodegradable cellulose. they are fully biodegradable and compostable.

why do my microgreens grow at different rates and grow to different sizes?

different types of microgreens have different heights and growth rates due to variations in their genetics and growth patterns. the height of a microgreen can also depend on factors such as the amount of light, temperature, and humidity they receive.
some microgreen varieties, such as mustard and radish, tend to grow taller than others, such as broccoli and red cabbage, which typically have a shorter height. the growth rate of microgreens can also affect their height, as some varieties may grow faster or slower than others.
